Our Purpose

Connecting and supporting First Nations communities

NATSIC stands for the National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Corporation. NATSIC Transport and Community Services was founded in 2013 as the Aboriginal Peak Body for all transport and access issues concerning First Nations communities and people. Since then, NATSIC has built sustainable relationships with transport sector providers and government policy makers. Our work aims to educate and empower transport providers to address the Closing the Gap priorities. We work to ensure the transport sector recognises, acknowledges, values and respects First Nations knowledge and participation within the sector.

Solving problems for our communities

NATSIC is a First Nations-led not-for-profit organisation dedicated to solving problems for our communities. NATSIC is committed to:

  • Eliminating transport disadvantage
  • Supporting access to necessities
  • Supporting access to services
  • Supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of First Nations people throughout Australia
